my recipe needs help!

Hey guys, so i have had some of you give me input but i want a little more before i brew this batch this weekend for the CASITAS camping expedition and for a wedding in july:

so here is the recipe for an American IPA i wanna make:

Grain Steep:
8 oz Crystal 20L (any other substitutions i can use if i cant find this?)
?? oz Carapils (im not sure how much to use to add the head retention and body qualities that sound good)

Extract:
4 lbs pale malt LME @ Boil
4 lbs pale malt LME @ Knockout

Hop addition- Going for a citrusy/fruity style IPA: (any substitutions you guys recommend?)
60min 1 oz Galena
30min 1/2 oz Amarillo
30min 1/2 oz Centennial
15min 1 oz WGV or Progress
DryHop 1/2 oz Amarillo and Centennial

IBUS = roughly 70 based on averages of AA%

Yeast:
Liquid starter of W-Labs American Ale yeast (any other recommended?)

Fermentation:

@ 64-66 (hopefully i can keep it this way any ideas?)
1 - 1 1/2 weeks in primary

@ 66-68 (should i keep it low like primary or bring it up a bit to 68?)
2 - 4 weeks in secondary (dry hopped)

i would really appreciate comments on my recipe or some techniques that would help my extract based brewing. i added the liquid starter, extract addition (1/2 at boil 1/2 at knockout) and lowering my temp already, any other ideas to help?? thansk guys! im brewing it this weekend so if you have something important i could use it asap!

use a 1/2 pound of carapils for mouthfeel..I would also use 1/2 lb of flaked wheat for head retention.

I'm not a real big fan of Galena but I would use Simcoe instead. I would also use amarillo instead of the progress.

But that is just me.. I always say you should experiment.

Mario, I agree with Mark on all points. I frequently use Simcoe and I really like the results. You might also consider doubling the dry hop amounts. Good luck.

Hey Russ,

I think the dry hoping needs a little pick me up as well,,, if you want more aroma... I would also consider columbus. There is also a new hop out there called Sorachi...we will be using a bit next weekend on the IPA recipe
