Debby and I will be leaving at noon on Friday to head up. We will be setting up the campsite so when you guys get there just look for the Fear No Beer banner. As I said in the email, I will be bringing a jockeybox with 2 taps only (all pin lock) and will have a blonde and the Sierra Nevada beer we brewed on tap.

Our estimated time of arrival is around 3:00pm.

We are bringing a camping stove and cooking utensils and plates, napkins and cups. We are also bringing some brats to share for a group dinner on Friday night if everyone is up for that. We also have lots of other supplies to help everyone one out.

Let me know what you guys want to do and we will see you all up there on Friday.

everyone left with great experiences and awesome memories..

Cost campsite : $25.00

Any pictures you can post up?

It does sound like a great time. What was in you opinion the best beer or the beer that made the biggest impression?

I took some picture but nothing worth the work to post. We didn't do the booth.

All the beers were great so nope.. nothing that stood out to me.. Plus we drank far too many to remember them all. I don't think anything the guys from the bruery at the campsite next to us was less than 8% so we got pretty buzzed too.. It was by far one of the best times I have had at a fest. You guys missed a seriously good time..

I agree with Mark, for the most part, the clubs that were present provided very good beers for us to try. I recall only one beer out of perhaps 40 that was difficult to consume.

The fest was excellent. Next year, we should definitely try to bring more people so that we can staff a booth.

Its always around the first weekend of May. There is no set amount. We could have had a booth with the three of us but we wouldn;t have had enough beer to last from 11am to 10pm. So we need beer and enough people to staff the booth and have shifts to rotate so we all can get out to try other clubs beers and make new friends. I introduced Russ to some really great brewers while we were there walking around. Some guys I have known for years. Not only that but we had one of the best camp sites there... with a great view of the lake.. and a pretty aggressive tribe of ground squirrels. It was really worth the drive.

There were also some excellent craft brewer presentations. Vinny presented the Russian River way to brew sour beers. Consequently, this weekend, I am going to take what I learned and give it a try. Please feel free to comment on my sour beer recipe below:

6 gallon, 90 minute boil

5.0 lbs Maris Otter
1.0 lbs Carafoam
3.0 lbs Victory
0.5 lbs of crystal 60
0.5 lbs of crystal 120
4.0 lbs of flaked wheat
0.4 lbs of flaked corn
.7 oz of Goldings E.K. at 60 minutes
Single infusion at 154 for 60 minutes

WLP 655 sour mix
